Japan Society for Head and Neck Surgery (JSHNS) was founded as an affiliated society of Japanese Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (JSOHNS). The aim of the society is development and education in terms of surgical technique, instruments, and supporting devices for all areas of head and neck region. Recent innovation includes robotic surgery for pharyngeal cancers (TORS) and photo-immune therapy (PIT) for head and neck cancers. PIT was first developed and approved for head and neck cancers in Japan, which is expected to expand in the world as well as in other cancers. Our society has a role to support these innovative treatments with the specific committee.

  Another important role of our society is the enlightenment of head and neck surgery in public. JSOHNS has set up the “Month of Head and Neck” in July. We collaborate it by holding several educational course and seminar for public people in person or using videos.

  We have the international committee which works for close communication and collaboration with other head and neck societies across the world. We can exchange information, learn a new activity and development, strengthen the bonds, and cooperate international meetings. The committee has the important role as the correspondence.

  We really hope sustainable activity, development, innovation, and collaboration in head and neck surgery.
